BioteQ Promotes Within to Replace Retiring CFO

VANCOUVER, BC – BioteQ Environmental Technologies Inc. (TSX:BQE), a leader in the treatment of metal and sulphate contaminated water, announces the appointment of Paul Kim, C.A. to the role of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective November 1, 2008. Mr. Kim replaces John York, who is retiring after a 35 year career including 8 years with BioteQ. As part of the corporate succession plan, Mr. York will continue with the Company in an advisory role on contract.

Paul Kim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia. Prior to joining BioteQ as Controller, Mr. Kim held positions with Lohn Caulder Chartered Accountants, Norsat International Inc. (TSX:NII), and most recently with Xantrex Technology Inc. Teresa Wong has been promoted to take over the role of Controller, providing continuity within the accounting team.
